NSCP Welcomes New Board Members and Announces 2025 Chair-Elect

(Cornwall Bridge, CT) November 12, 2024 – The National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP)  is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Carlo di Florio, President of ACA Group, and Janice Powell, Chief Compliance Officer of Diversify Advisor Network. In addition, NSCP is excited to announce Heather Traeger, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, as the 2025 Chair-Elect.

These new additions bring a wealth of experience and diverse expertise to NSCP's leadership, enhancing the organization’s commitment to supporting compliance professionals across the financial services industry.

Carlo di Florio has an extensive background in compliance, regulatory oversight and risk management, with previous roles including Director of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE, now the Division of Examinations) and Chief Risk and Strategy Officer at FINRA. He now leads ACA Group in its mission to provide advisory services, technology solutions and outsourced managed services to over 6,500 clients globally.

Janice Powell brings over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on compliance, supervision and fiduciary services. As a passionate educator and advocate for regulatory compliance, Janice, the Chief Compliance Officer for Diversify Advisor Network, has been an active NSCP member and currently serves as the Chair of the Conferences Committee​.

Heather Traeger, NSCP’s newly named Chair-Elect, is an accomplished legal and compliance executive with more than 22 years of experience, including significant regulatory roles at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. At the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, she leads compliance efforts for the sixth-largest public pension fund in the U.S., overseeing both retirement and healthcare programs.

NSCP would like to extend its gratitude to outgoing board members Rob Saperstein, Hope Newsome, Jeannette “Jeannie” Lewis, Jeffrey R. Blumberg and Melissa Loner for their dedication, contributions and years of service. Their commitment has strengthened the organization and contributed greatly to advancing the compliance profession.
