WittKieffer has been retained by Centerstone, located in Nashville, TN, to identify the organization's next Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). This position will support the organization virtually working out of a home office environment, ideally in or near a community served by Centerstone.
Centerstone is a large, nonprofit behavioral health and addiction treatment provider across multiple states including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. The CCO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, David Guth and to the Centerstone America Board. The CCO serves as a member of Centerstone senior administration, and leads all areas related to compliance, audit, privacy and is responsible for planning and designing, implementing and maintaining system-wide corporate compliance programs, policies and procedures. This executive position serves as a role model for ethical management behavior; promotes awareness and understanding of ethical principles and compliance within federal and state law in all areas of compliance programs and staff and assists in planning and identifying priorities for compliance. The CCO will have oversight for all system entities. This person will also work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer as well as member entity CEOs on various compliance and privacy issues.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree while a Master's degree or Juris Doctorate is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of healthcare experience, including extensive knowledge of laws, rules and regulations regarding healthcare compliance and operations. Prior experience in behavioral health is preferred. The successful candidate will be a transparent and collaborative leader comfortable spearheading and supporting change in a complex environment.
