Monterey One Water (M1W) is a public wastewater and water recycling agency focused on providing safe, resilient water solutions to the 10 cities/special districts it represents in northern Monterey County. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Laboratory and Environmental Services Manager oversees the operations and activities of the Agency’s Laboratory, Source Control, and Regulatory Compliance programs. In addition, this person provides technical expertise and assistance to the Board of Directors, Agency staff, and external member agencies. The ideal candidate is positive, professional, and productive. They have outstanding leadership and communication skills. They thoroughly understand source control and enthusiastically share information with others to ensure compliance with environmental standards to promote a healthy local ecosystem. They will work hand-in-hand with M1W’s Operations team.

Typical qualifying experience: bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental engineering, or biochemistry PLUS 7 years performing laboratory technical analysis AND 5 years of supervisory and administrative experience. CA Grade IV Laboratory Analyst certification required.

Salary: $133,577 - $170,476, DOQ, plus benefits.
