The Office of Access and Equity (formerly the Office of Multicultural Affairs) in the https://agsci.psu.edu/ (CoAS) is seeking a Civil Rights Compliance Specialist to join our team and support CoAS Extension. Our team is highly collaborative and committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment with opportunities for professional growth and development for all our members.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop and monitor statewide processes and strategies that facilitate Extension compliance with federal non-discrimination laws and policies, including internal reviews by unit.
• Work with the Assistant Dean for Access and Equity and Extension administrators to conduct annual desk audits of programs and initiatives.
• Conduct data analyses, summaries, and reporting related to Extension programs and initiatives.
• Lead activities related to enhancing knowledge of Civil Rights laws for all CoAS employees.
• Develop and provide learning opportunities for extension staff that are related to ensuring access and accessibility to extension programs, providing welcoming and inclusive environments, and providing programming relevant to all communities, especially those underserved.
• Work with the Assistant Dean for Access and Equity, Extension administrators, educators, and faculty to develop strategies to sustain parity and for reaching underserved audiences.
• Stay current on USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) policies and regulations and provide regular updates to the Assistant Dean for Access and Equity and Extension Administrations.
• As part of the Office of Access and Equity team, participate in the development and implementation of the office's programs and initiatives.
This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Access and Equity.
Work Arrangements:
This position requires the successful candidate to work in person and on campus. Some travel is required. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
Education and Experience:
This position will be filled as a Compliance Specialist Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. Minimum requirements for the Intermediate Professional level include a Bachelor degree and 1 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree is preferred.

• Highly motivated and with outstanding organizational skills.
• Excellent in data management, analysis, documentation, and reporting.
• Excellent in oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledgeable of Civil Rights and non-discrimination laws and policies.
• Experienced in the development and delivery of trainings that enhance intercultural skills, knowledge of equitable practices, and competencies to provide inclusive and welcoming environments.
• Experienced working with and leading diverse and interdisciplinary groups.
Desired qualifications include:
• Working knowledge of Spanish and/or language/s other than English.
This position requires the following clearances:
PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
