Join our Corporate Compliance team in this full-time specialist role, where you will play a pivotal role monitoring and auditing compliance issues for a multi-hospital health care system. This role will allow you to:
· Review regulatory, audit, billing, coding, medical necessity, documentation and other general compliance processes and analyses to ensure correct reimbursements are made to the hospital and that all policies and procedures in the practice adhere to applicable laws, rules and regulations.
· Serve as a compliance expert, providing ongoing training and education to staff members.
· Research and respond to compliance inquiries, initiating investigations when there are suspected or confirmed instances of non-compliance.
· Work with compliance managers and department leaders to develop and oversee specialized compliance projects.
· Participate in compliance meetings organized to foster open lines of communication within the organization.
We are seeking candidates who are certified in health care compliance with any of the following combinations of education and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and two years of compliance, clinical, coding, auditing, legal or related work experience; associate’s degree in health or business-related field and four years of compliance, clinical coding, auditing, legal or related work experience; or certification in compliance, coding and/or auditing and six years of aforementioned experience with knowledge of, and experience with, health care laws and regulations that govern the health care industry.
• Candidates with RN, LPN, RHIA or RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CPC, CCS or CHC/CHRC are preferred.
• A natural problem solver and multi-tasker who has a demonstrated knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, as well as federal and state regulations.
• Proven ability to research and understand complex issues and familiarity with hospital billing systems, coding and medical records.
• Must be organized, versatile and able to work independently.
