Working Location: The position is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We expect the successful candidate to be physically present on site at our Industriplex location each day of the week or as otherwise directed by Management.

Each day this ongoing challenge is met by a dedicated staff of professionals who allocate federal and state funds to help working families make their housing dreams a reality.

We administer federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive housing policy for Louisiana and oversee the state’s Disaster Housing Task Force.

We are looking for Environmental Specialists to join our team and help us protect the environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, monitoring and evaluating environmental impacts, and developing strategies to mitigate any negative effects. The ideal candidate will have NEPA Part 58 Environmental Training, have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and policies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret environmental data.

• Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures.

• Conduct environmental research and monitoring activities.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

• Develop and implement waste management plans.

• Conduct risk assessments of hazardous materials.

• Educate the public on environmental issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: biological sciences, sociology, economics, anthropology, forestry, chemistry, geology, physics, geography, environmental science/ecology, wildlife and fisheries science, engineering, landscape architecture, history, architecture or archeology.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong verbal/written communications skills.

• Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.

• Aptitude for understanding and explaining programmatic topics.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $42,243.00 - $61,714.00 per year
