What you’ll carry out and achieve in this role.

As the Compliance Communication Specialist, you’ll develop and implement annual compliance communication plans throughout UF Health. You'll provide ongoing compliance education, training and support programs for our multi-hospital health care system and review complex regulatory, billing, coding and documentation requirements. You’ll also perform the following tasks:

• Seek opportunities to promote the UF Health Compliance program as part of our ongoing efforts to advance our culture of compliance, while also seeking external exposure through speaker and article placement and award recognition.

• Develop employee compliance communication and education programs, plus creating compliance program activities to promote and foster adherence to applicable laws, rules, guidelines and regulations.

• Maintain awareness of emerging compliance and privacy risk areas to promote proactive, interdepartmental communication and education.

• Assist in developing and monitoring special compliance projects with Compliance Services and UF Health leadership.

• Participate in and attend systemwide compliance meetings to advance open lines of communication within the organization.

What you need to be successful.

We’re looking for a team-oriented communicator with a bachelor's degree in health care administration, English, communications, public relations or a related discipline. An advanced degree, such as an MBA, JD, MPH or MHA, is preferred. You must also have at least three years of experience in health care compliance and/or developing/delivering training curriculum, technical writing or report drafting within the setting, preferably in a multi-hospital system. Health care operational, educational, clinical or compliance services experience, including billing, coding and auditing related to governmental payer regulations and requirements, is preferred.

You should also bring the following:

• Strong technical writing skills, presentation skills and attention to detail.

• Top-notch organizational skills, versatility and the ability to work independently.

• Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse functional specialties, backgrounds and levels, responding to their needs through collaboration and use of effective group dynamics.

• Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills.

• Strong customer service orientation with focus on treating all people with respect and dignity.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.

• Experience using a variety of software and information technologies (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).

• Ability to develop computer-based learning modules.
