Director, Best Interest & Sales Supervision Outreach

The Director, Best Interest & Sales Supervision Outreach is responsible for cultivating, growing, and managing relationships with the sales supervision and best interest review teams within strategic financial services firms that sell Jackson products ("Distributors") . The Director, Best Interest & Sales Supervision Outreach works closely with Jackson Compliance leadership and its Distribution arm while serving as a liaison to Distributors on sales supervision, best interest and suitability issues. Responsibilities also include liaising with the Sales, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Product teams to execute initiatives that support Jackson's strategy, representing the organization at relevant conferences, and cultivating relationships within Distributors.
Essential Responsibilities:
Leads Jackson’s cross-functional engagement and communication with Distributors, specific to regulations impacting the review and approval of annuity products by the Distributor, and best interest and suitability reviews of annuity sales.
Assists Jackson Compliance teams with implementing new regulations within the sales supervision, best interest, and suitability areas.
Collaborates with Strategic Relationships, the group responsible for managing relationships with the Distributors, to align with their efforts to cover and engage with Distributors effectively. As part of this process, partners with Key Account Managers within Strategic Relationships to develop and expand Jackson relationships across Distributors’ product support, sales supervision, and compliance teams.
Manages meetings between Distributors’ legal/sales supervision/compliance leadership and Jackson leadership where necessary, including preparing materials and leading internal briefings.
Educates Jackson Sales and Compliance teams on Distributors’ policies, processes, and best practices related to annuity transaction suitability.
Develops, coordinates, and delivers relevant industry updates and product training to sales supervision and related teams along with sales and service representatives within Distributors.
Builds deep knowledge of Distributors’ compliance and best interest/suitability procedures, systems, programs, and management team dynamics.
Assists with coordinating Jackson hosted events for Distributors and actively participates in partner or industry conferences and activities.
Collaborates with Marketing and Compliance teams to develop thought leadership marketing collateral and value-add content concerning the appropriate use of annuities to achieve client outcomes.
Establishes and manages expectations with management, internal partners, team members, and other company personnel as necessary to deliver results.
Develops and delivers activity reporting and other information as required to Distributors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of FINRA, SEC, DOL and state insurance and securities regulations, particularly standards of conduct (SEC Regulation Best Interest, NY Regulation 187, NAIC Model Regulation 275).

Strong understanding of investment fundamentals (capital markets, principles of portfolio construction, manager selection, etc.).
High degree of familiarity with investment products, including deep knowledge of mutual funds, variable annuities, fixed index annuities, and other retirement products required.

Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes.
Ability to simplify complex concepts into easily deliverable and understandable points for internal and external audiences.

Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and other software packages (eg, Salesforce).
Successful track record working within a highly effective team environment preferred.
Ability to travel up to 50% of time, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Advanced degree preferred.
8+ years of experience within the financial services industry required.
Experience in sales supervision or equivalent function required.
FINRA Series 6/7 and Series 24/26 required within six months of hire.
